From the IGI Airport to the City
Indira Gandhi International Airport has been expanded, modernized as well as upgraded. The cost for revamping was near about US$ 1.95 billion; Terminal 3 has improved airport passenger capacity to more than 37 million passengers a year by 2010. A new runway was prepared to allow over 75 flights an hour and – at over 4400 metres long – it would be one of Asia's longest.
Airport would be connected to city via a six-lane expressway (Delhi–Gurgaon Expressway) and $580 million Delhi Airport Metro Express line.
The events of Commonwealth Games 2010 will be held in different venues in Delhi.
- Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex
Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex is the main venue for hosting of CWG 2010. It is situated at Lodhi Road area .i.e near the Central Government Offices (C.G.O.) Complex. The main events to be held in this stadium include the Athletics, Lawn Bowls, Weightlifting and the opening and closing ceremonies.

- Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium
It is situated on the western bank of River Yamuna and in close proximity to the Delhi Secretariat and Ferozshah Kotla citadel. Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium is the largest indoor stadium in India. Cycling, Gymnastics and Wrestling are scheduled to be held in this stadium.

It is located in the East Delhi at Shahdara. The Archery Qualification Rounds and Table Tennis will be held in Yamuna Sports Complex.

This stadium has elegant look and is a unique piece of architecture. It will be hosting CWG 2010’s Boxing events.

It is situated in INA Colony, south Thyagaraj Sports Complex is especially built Netball competition of for CWG 2010. It is India’s first Netball stadium.

- Dr. S.P. Mukherjee Swimming Stadium
Dr. S.P. Mukherjee Swimming Stadium is located on the ridge forest area of Central Delhi. The Diving and Swimming events for XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 will be held at this stadium.
Nearest Metro Station - Rama Krishna Ashram Marg, Patel Chowk
- Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range
It is located in South Delhi near the historic Tughlakabad Fort and Suraj Kund Lake. The event of shooting will be held at Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.
Nearest Metro Station - Kalkaji Temple, Badarpur Border
- Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium
This stadium is also known as “the temple of Indian Hockey” and named after the legendary hockey player and Olympian Major Dhyan Chan. Hockey event is scheduled to take place in this stadium.
Nearest Metro Station - Udyog Bhawan, Pragati Maidan, Mandi House
Delhi University Stadium will be hosting Rugby Sevens for CWG 2010. This stadium is spread over 10,000 metres area and will also serve as the training venue for Boxing, Women's Wrestling, Netball, and Athletics during the Games.
Nearest Metro Station – Vishwavidyalaya
- CRPF Shooting Range, Kadarpur
It is located in Kadarpur and is scheduled to host the Full Bore Shooting competition for 300 yards, 300 meters, 500 yards, 600 yards, 900 yards and 1000 yards during the Commonwealth Games.
- NOIDA Expressway (Cycling)
NOIDA Expressway is scheduled for hosting Cycling Time Trial road events for CWG 2010. This event will be held on 13 October 2010.
- R.K. Khanna Tennis Complex
This complex is scheduled to be venue for Delhi 2010’s Tennis competitions. It is situated in the lush environment of the Deer Park in the Safdarjung Enclave area of South Delhi.
Nearest Metro Station - Green Park
Siri Fort Sports Complex is located near the historic Siri fort. It will host Badminton as well as Squash events of CWG 2010.

- Commonwealth Games Village, located on the outskirts of East Delhi is village is spread over the area of 63.5 hectares. It is situated near to National Highway 24 that heads out to Ghaziabad. The opening and closing ceremonies of CWG is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

Travel Arrangements for the Destinations:
- New flyovers, cloverleafs and bridges have ben constructed facilitate proper connectivity games stadia, Games Village as well as to hospitals. National highways have being expanded and various roads have been made signal free.
- For linking Ring road to Lodhi Road, four-lane, 2.2-km-long tunnel is proposed which will link Games Village to the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
- There shall be High Capacity Bus Systems to be operational on 9 corridors.
- Delhi Metro is being expanded to accommodate more people during the 2010 games.
- Indira Gandhi International Airport is being majorly revamped.
- A two tier terminal will be constructed by 2010 games. The bottom area of this terminal will be used for arrivals while top level for departures.
- There will be 130 check-in counters, 55 aerobridges, 30 parking bays, 72 immigration counters, 15 X-ray screening areas and much more at IGI by the year 2010.
- The airport will be connected to the city via a 6-lane highway (NH8) and Delhi Metro.
